Ameisenforum.de forum, which looks great, had this post, entitled a Photographic report on Colony removal.

I don't know about you but, having worked with colonies a whole lot bigger than this, I am not sure I would want to expose myself to this kind of mauling unnecessarily.

I think you mean a masochist. The difference between the two can be important. Especially if you've been to some of the clubs I've been to.

South street Scotstoun? lol

:) What a nutter.....but then I thought that of you Andrew when you took the lid off of our colony's nest tank to have a look! I don't care if Acro's bite is softer than Atta's!!

This reminds me of one of he scientist who works at The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in London I go there to photograph mosquito larvae and pupa and incredibly I have seen him testing the bites of mosquitoes by introducing his forearm into the cage and leaving there for minutes on end to get bitten by the insects, just to see the reaction for the days coming. I have seen his arm so red full of red spots its scary. And surprisingly he is all happy and with a smile explaining me the reasons why he did it each time for each specific strain of mosquito.
Crazy!!!,
