Leaf Cutting Ant Forum

About 4 months ago a large colony of Atta cephalotes escaped from their tub by crossing a jammed branch and digging a nest in one of my undersoil heated greenhouses. Over the past few months the colony has gotten larger and larger and their entrances now resemble a mid sized colony from the wild. There are now trails of ants leading into the main greenhouse at night to forage which is amazing to see in Scotland.

In true Atta style (for larger colonies) it is very quiet during the day.

This solves your problem of dismantling your greenhouse prior fo moving lol, great pictures. Bet your the only one in the UK with à semi wild colony possibly?

Mine like that at day time there not much moving but at night the fungus comes alive with loads of ants coving it great pics Andrew what you going to do tho when they even more bigger ??

Knob! They are boots. But....... When I was guiding an expedition in Trinidad I was wearing crocs and they spotted them and I got bullied for the rest of the day. Crocs are great, very cumfy and all terrain. Its a case of function over fashion. If you disagree then you are on the wrong site.
