They don't do they, that's why people shouldn't base the species choice on them in my opinion. I had my first Acromyrmex colony doing well but just couldn't resist getting an Atta even though I knew it was silly. The enjoyment of two soon wore off lol.

Just had a thought, could i use seans pods in my tank setup on the islands, would the moisture in the tank get into the pods and would it be the same temperature in the pod as the tank?

It would be same temperature but there would need to be an opening for the humid air to enter.

Temperature would be no problem, you need to watch for humidity. Again, make sure your probe is in the pod, right at the fungus. Humidity can do strange things when there is activity in a particular area so dont assume that your trial period humidity will be the same in the nest area once your colony goes is. It might drop.

Everything seems to be going really well, the fungus is growing, they are permanently adding leaves, ive even seen the soldier moving his lazy ass around the fungus. Ive just seen the queen with her abdomen buried right into the fungus, does this mean she was laying eggs. I cleaned the water out yesterday as the water was brown, my son distracted me whilst trying to siphon the water out, dump pile and water does not taste good  Im going to have to move them into the 4ft tank next week the fungus is now nearly touching the lid.
